WHAT TO WEAR TO A FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT
An often asked question for families diving into their first family photo session.
There are several answers:
Something appropriate
If it’s the middle of winter then get wrapped up. Summer, then something cooler. If you want to go in the water, bring a towel and a change. Pretty simple. Basically don’t put the kids in tiny Summer dresses if its baltic out. They will be freezing and nobody will have a nice time.
2. Simple colours
Nothing with huge brand logos or garish colours. Natural tones, denim, black, white, softer colours. Try and avoid BRIGHT reds or heavily contrasting colours (Everyone is in whites and light greens and then one kid in florescent orange camo t-shirt. It will look strange).
3. Hats
Hats are totally fine. Just be warned that they can cast dark shadows on your face (I know that’s the point right, not for photos though).
4. A good attitude
The best thing you can wear is a smile and a good attitude. If you come along with an open mind and look forward to just having fun with the family then you will all have a great time and the photos will of course reflect that. You’re in good hands and I will look after you. I wont ask you to stand in the middle of a crowded beach ‘posing’ and feeling uncomfortable. It’s all laid back and about having a nice time. If you get involved and have fun then so will the kids.
